Freshman year mom sent me three of this fellow’s CDs.

Sample of lyrics:

Wave motion, just a simple oscillation,

Wave motion, it’s a good vibration,

Wave motion, you can feel it in the air,

Wave motion, it’s everywhere.

Stretch a spring out on the floor, and move it side to side,

You get a transverse wave, watch that baby glide.

See th ose peaks and valleys, like waves out on the sea,

You can even measure amplitude and frequency.

There’s wave motion everywhere you look,

It’s not just something in a physics book.

It’s in the light that’s shining from the sky up above,

It’s the sound taht carries words of love.

Try to contain your jealousy.

  1. Where do you find this stuff? I was reading over some of the packets (I can’t remember if it was physical science or chem) this summer, and there were some funny rhymes/songs.

  2. It’s Michael Offutt, and he’s written a ton of chemistry/physics songs. You’d have to ask Mom where she got it, though, because she’s the originatior.

Did you know that summer before this one, my job was to rewrite the chemistry curriculum into the form you copied it in? What a job…
