Day’s Verse:
Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Cor. 3:16

WPI is empty. Everybody has gone home to the warm fuzzy feeling that comes from eating too much with a group of close relatives, followed by falling asleep in front of a TV displaying heavily muscled men bashing into each other over a little ball. What could be a more all-American holiday than one constructed entirely around gorging oneself? Although of course Fourth of July runs a close second, in which we sit around lighting things on fire, then oooohhh and aaaaahhhhh over the (expensively) beautiful results.
But seriously, I’m not against Thanksgiving. Call me crazy, but I simply think the valuable part – the Thanks part – slips behind all the wonderful cooking smells, the bustle and reunions and, of course, the eating. It’s something to think about. Maybe take a few minutes tomorrow and go around the table, each person telling one thing they’re thankful for in the last week/month/year. Just to remember.

You forgot to list the things you are thankful for. Actually, people have been doing just that on some chess chatlines I frequent. Funny thing: chess came way before girlfriends. 🙂
