Finally, finally, finally – and again I say, FINALLY some of our friends are going to be joining us in the happy state of Matrimony! Ben asked Lisa and of course she agreed. Congrats to Ben and Lisa! It’s quite the rigorous journey to Matrimony from Singleton, where we all start out; and I can’t claim that it’s an easy place to live, but in consideration… nothing could persuad me to move back to Singleton for all the money, power, or glory in the world. I don’t know if there’s anything harder than being married, or anything more worth working through the trouble for. I truly can’t say how excited I am.

Also I’m excited because last night I made, for the first time:

Mashed Potatoes

Pumpkin Pie and crust

Cranberry Fruit Jell-O

And they all turned out deliciously, although I did learn that small volumes of cranberries fly around like popcorn inside an old-fashioned popper when blended in a blender (say that 10 times fast). I’m most proud of the pie crust, which has daunted me and haunted my confidence in cooking since I began. But it’s light and flaky and tempting and perfect. So life is good.

…anybody want pumpkin pie? We have two of them…
