Day’s Verse:
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of david; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.” But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was.

Seattle has come to Worcester today, indeed this whole week: temperatures in the 40’s and 50’s, combined with a steady dripping that permeates even our dungenous apartment, makes me feel quite homey. All we need now is a rambunctious Golden Retriever, a perniciously punning sister, and a much-bickered-over Prius. Home, however, lacks a professor named – no kidding – Darko Volkov.
Last night we went to a lovely Winter Concert put on by the WPI Brass Ensemble, Orchestra, and Alden Voices. A friend of mine is in Alden Voices, which is why I went, but it was such a gorgeous and relaxing experience that made me realize that today is December 1st and we celebrate Christ’s birth soon. Peace be with you –

PS – At Thanksgiving we drank out of glasses that were made in the 1890’s. They were my aunt’s mother’s great-grandmother’s wedding present, and they were very pretty – fragile, too. I drank out of something older than most buildings!
