Me: “What’s in the oven?”
Mom: “It’s Grandma, and she’s half-baked.”
Which is funny in a sad sort of way because my grandmother is schizophrenic.
I read a 900 page book in twenty-four hours. We stay in our PJ’s until afternoon. We throw the bone for the dog. We watch a movie every day. We eat lots of cookies and let parents wash the dishes. This is the long sigh of relief that we call Christmas break.
