Day’s Verse:
Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all the unfortunate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.
Proverbs 31:8-9

For the last twelve hours or more I’ve had one phrase of a song ringing through my head, courtesy of my my mother’s assiduous listening to the Physics Songbag in the van on the way to school during my childhood:
You won’t get my attention, you won’t get my applause/
’Til you learn a little something about Newton and his laws./
No matter what you say or do, you won’t get through to me/
Until you learn about old Newton’s one-two-three.
Which, as you might imagine, is more than a little annoying.
What’s interesting about a blog is that, like a journal, it’s keeping a piece of history. But unlike an individual’s journal, this vast collection of millions of blogs could serve to actually help map out our current culture. I think of each blog as one cell in an amoeboid slug of history, one little individual cell that all form one huge gelatinous mass that somebody may look at one day and think Now that’s really interesting. Or they might just think, along with everybody else who’s seen a slime mold, Ewwww.
