Day’s Verse:

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything is worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Is it a violation of privacy to sneak a cookie on while alerting the user to a cookie presence/offering a choice would be OK? Do they present enough of a security hazard to be concerning? Would it depend which site a cookie comes from?

Subject Change: Data on the apartment: The apartment is fine. Probably smaller in square footage than our current one, its living room and kitchen are one big room with a division delineated by a change in flooring materials. There is a long bar-type counter between the lined up sink, gas stove (read: learning curve for me), and rather old refrigerator and the rest of the room. Cabinets above the sink and stove area offer storage space. The bedroom is connected to the kitchen and is reasonably-sized, with a decent amount of closet space. The bathroom is long, narrow, and windowless but looks perfectly functional. There are large beams in the kitchen ceiling and fake wood panelling covering all the walls, which give the place a rather dark Masons lodge (the link is a joke!) feel. Positively, the ceilings are not drop ceilings, the windows are double-paned, there is a separate side entrance, heat, gas for the stove, and hot water are all paid for. The thermostat in the kitchen controls the entire building so we are ALL POWERFUL! -with a strict injunction not to touch it. The current tenants spoke glowingly of their experience there, but the landlord also stood right there listening. In our unofficial timing it took about 10 – 15 minutes to walk to WPI. Ian and the landlord were both very enthusiastic about the apartment, while I merely liked the apartment just fine, and look forward with great anticipation to leaving our current abode.

  1. That sounds very nice. Is it part of a house?

I’d comment on the “cookies” but I onyl have a nerd score of 16, so I’d better not!

  2. I think once you pass the learning curve on the stove, you’re going to like it just fine. I miss having a gas stove SO MUCH! I think they are far superior to electric. Just remember, it’s hot the second you turn it on, so you don’t turn it on five minutes before you need it like with an electric range (UGH!! Makes me CRAZY!!)
