Day’s Verse:
He is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:25

I would like to commend the many people who read and commented on On Evolution. I am proud and honored that such an openminded, polite, and understanding group of people read my blog. Many different viewpoints were shared in a manner that I can only describe as the finest true communication I have read in a long while. Your many thoughtful comments made a real and open discussion possible on a topic that has ingendered more than its share of bitterness, cruel remarks, and general coldness between the two camps. It is this kind of willingness to step out of your normal thinking and belief zone that, if we could continue it, would significantly change the world.

What I found most wonderful and commendable was that although people held many different views, you all respectfully really listened to other points of view. Although disagreement will always exist, you have shown that there’s no need for hostility therein. Thank you and I hope we can do business together again in the future.

  1. and I’m glad i stayed on topic the whole time, didn’t start quoting near-irrelevant factors, and the debate didn’t descend into “my theology > yr theology”

  2. Seriously.

General note: I have added a “Position Blogs” section in the links, under Writing. I’ll be collecting all blogs similar to the Evolution one below there for posterity. And ease of reference.

  3. I’d be interested to discuss the issue further w/ you when you come back to Seattle, if you’re interested, Katie. If you’re tapped out, that’s cool too. : )

  4. Yeah, nice, isn’t it? I was presented it as “BioPoet 2005” for my biology class. Unfortunately the professor called me up in front of the whole class and placed it on my head. The good news was he also gave me $10 for the poem, which was really awful and about octopuses.

I don’t know how clearly you can see it, but that’s a real spray-painted gold horseshoe crab hot-glued to the top. VERY classy.
