Last night the Ferguson family and my mother and I dined together. Then we looked at slides of Ian as a child. Funny thing how every parent feels their child possesses the finest features of any infant born – past, present, or future. We saw a slide of Ian in a big row of other babies and had to ask which he was; once they pointed him out, the response was: Of course! He’s by far the best-looking one there!

Which is what I say about him now, anyway.
