Day’s Verse:
I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; yes, wait for the Lord.
Psalm 27:13-14

This morning I emailed my London sponsors with a proposal and a couple of questions. This marks the first time I communicated directly with Selena and Suzanne: the first impression, so to speak. This first bit of my personality, albeit small and formal, allows them to start formulating what they think of me. Certainly Professor Trimbur talked with them about me, but now they really heare my “voice” for the first time.
It also means that, having contacted them, this project will really truly happen. Despite all the work I put in, all the money we paid, still in some sense I don’t believe it will actually happen. But on May 13th at 7 pm a 777 will take off with me on board and land 7 hours (+/-) in London’s Heathrow airport. So now I have to really believe it. Emailing my Commonside Community Development Trust (what a name! Like a hippopotamus in ponderousness) sponsors simply impresses that reality more deeply, I suppose.
I wonder when our tiny London group will meet? It might be nice to recognize our group members before we get to the project site. Hmmm. Should I take action on suggesting we meet some time?

You could suggest an informal get-together to “get acquainted.” Have some cookies and it’ll go fine. 🙂
Are you actually working with other people on your MQP, or alone? I know you posted before that there were only four of us going, and I know myself and Jaime are working on sufficiency, so I think Christopher is the only one unaccounted for.
And about meeting other people going, you and I actually had a class together last term, so I can already recognize you on sight.
We DID?!! What class?
I’m doing the MQP alone, but I think Christopher’s doing an IQP. I heard our group had all three, which is pretty amazing for a 4-group team.
We had Ethics and the Professions together.
Plus, I heard this other person, Mike, might be coming along with us to make the group 5. He’d be doing his IQP if he does go.
