Guilty as Charged

Day’s Verse:

Have you ever had a time when you opened your mouth and something mean just came out? Yesterday I got miffed at our roommate when I walked in the door and he immediately shouted my name. I told him to “shut up and leave me alone,” which later struck me as odd because honestly I had no intention of saying anything like that. What’s in your heart comes out your mouth, indeed. Guilt arrived after a while and I wondered why I had even said that. I do not like being accosted the instant I walk in the door, and our roommate has a propensity to do just that in his (often over) exuberant manner of greeting.
