Day’s Verse:
I will cry to God Most High, to God who accomplishes all things for me. He will send from heaven and save me…
Psalm 57:2-3a

I can sum up our time in Boston yesterday in one word: Lovely. Just the kind of rejuvinating, fun day we needed together before I go off to work on my MQP and he starts his grad class.

We caught an early train into the city and an hour later arrived in New England’s most beautiful city. Most of our day we spent walking around, with a two-hour interlude to see Hitchhiker’s Guide and after that to eat clam chowder in bread bowls at the Quincy Market. We wandered around Beacon Hill and saw the most photographed street in America; we bought a finger-puppet knitted lobster that I named Three-Dollar; we talked; I took endless pictures; we walked along the Charles river; we saw a bird bathing in a drinking fountain; we sat on the edge of the Boston Common and watched people go by. The sun shone, the breeze blew, and we had the best day together we’ve had in months. On the way home we stopped and topped our day off by splitting a fried ice cream from Tortilla Sam’s. After all the walking and traveling, we fell asleep very tired, but very, very happy.
