Yesterday I read a novel between bouts of packing and working on my MQP. It looks like I’ll fit all my stuff into one BIG (think: I could fit in it) suitcase plus my backpacking bag. I’ve always packed lightly as I could, but the struggle is between bringing lots of clothes and doing laundry less frequently and having a lighter suitcase and doing laundry more often. I’m leaning towards just bringing a ton of clothes and washing them as infrequently as possible. Hopefully the weather will be unseasonably warm…

This parting is the strangest of my and Ian’s relationship so far: I’m leaving him this time. Every time before it’s he who has gone off to new, interesting things, leaving me behind to twiddle my thumbs back at home. Now I’m getting to go off to have a fun school experience and let him stay in our dingy basement apartment, cooking his own meals and maybe cleaning the bathroom occasionally. I hope. I can’t wait to see how this all pans out.
