The words of the wise heard in quietness are better than the shouting of a ruler among fools. Wisdom is better than weapons of war, but one sinner destroys much good.
Pictures! Pictures! Pictures! OK, I actually hit my October upload limit, and only got a few Vermont pictures up. Thankfully, tomorrow is November and I start fresh with 20 more megs of upload space on Flickr, so check back on my Flickr page tomorrow. Many of the pictures consisted of people doing silly things (Alka-Seltzer tablets combined with a mouthful of rootbeer, while wearing a sheet-toga; rolling downhill through dried leaves; emulating a 5-legged dinosaur; Rock-Paper-Scissors as a chicken or gorilla or egg; wrestling; or sitting as a group looking rather dull) and I do not intend to put many of those up. You would find them boring because few of my readers know any of these people.
However, if you want to see some other peoples’ pictures, go to Rob’s gallery. Nora also seems to be compiling pictures, so she may make a link avaliable in the future as well. Frankly, none of the pictures I took (and none of the ones I’ve seen from other people) really capture the feel of Vermont and the retreat. Most of the photos just look like hills, or red barns, or tree-covered mountains. All of these things are very nice, but most of the environment’s power is lost in the narrowness of these images.
