Day’s Verse:
For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
Galatians 5:13

Apparently my awkward streak continues. Today I came out with one of the most embarrassing things I’ve said in a long time (names changed for anonymity):

Yesterday I was telling Jake why we need to have sex.

Then I continued my story (it was about genetics) and five minutes later realized why Jake and another friend were nearly weeping with laughter. Then my face had the decency to turn fiery red — a perfect match to Jake’s, I imagine. (I did, however, also say, “I put great hope in sleep and dreams,” immediately before using that combination of keepers to win a round of Fluxx.)

The rest of the day I spent impersonating a housewife: washing dishes, taking the garbage out, cleaning the bathroom, straightening the apartment, vacuuming, cooking, walking to the drug store and the grocery store. All this sounds mundane, but now, with the night’s last batch of dishes drying and the leftovers stowed away, a tsunami of exhaustion has swept me away. Also it takes quite a bit of energy to put your foot as thoroughly in your mouth as I have these last few days.
