Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And clever in their own sight!
Hold yer horses, chillen, ’cause this momma’s actually done some honest-to-goodness work. That’s right, the last day or so I’ve been SOP-ing it up here at Charles River Laboratories Preclinical Services, Massachusetts. This mainly means I’ve been fitting old SOPs into a new template, but that’s OK: it’s better than alphabetizing or recycling papers out of outdated binders. Plus I got a half-baked (only 380 calories, approximately 1/3 of my daily intake!) from the ice cream truck and attended my first departmental meeting. And, at last, they say I will receive access to a folder that I really need to access for some real report writing work.
Also it turns out that even among this small group, there are some rather disgruntling office politics. You can hear the occasional hush-voiced conversation that indicates the conversees are talking about somebody in the room, but behind the subject’s back. It’s a little awkward to start picking up on these things, and I certainly have no desire to pick sides in these extant divisions. I’ll do my best to straddle any divides without being trampled (wild horses, hence the photo. Yeah, just go with it).
