Day’s Verse:
[…] be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work. Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels.
2 Timothy 2:21-23

Smoothie ConundrumI rode my bike both ways today, and arrived home very tired. Yet this feat also required a celebration, and our favorite means of culinary celibration is smoothies! Plus, we had an enormous bowl of fruit salad left over from our real dinner of last night (a real dinner that included: Dill sauce-covered salmon steaks, fruit salad, baby potatoes, and corn), and it proved a perfect base for a smoothie. So I filled the blender with the leftover fruit salad and let ’er rip. It worked beautifully… Except for consistency. I like a thicker smoothie, and that requires some cold, frozen substance. Lately I’ve been putting in random frozen fruit. You can see the result of my thickening procedure in the picture there.

Another amusing thing: Both our families thoughtfully sent us anniversary cards. Ironically enough, they each independently sent us the same card. So now we have two of the same card, inscribed by each family. I guess we remind both our families of the same jokey card.

  1. Did the blender overflow when you turned it on,mine would have,if not lucky you and HAPPY ANNIVERSARY tomorrow. LOve Grandma

  2. Incredibly enough, it didn’t! I put the lid on carefully (and not very tightly), blended it vigorously, and the volume dropped enough for me to finish blending it. But then we had about eight cups of smoothie to drink, so that was a whole ‘nother problem. I ended up having some for breakfast this morning as well as last night.
