Day’s Verse:
You will go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills
will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field
will clap their hands.

Isaiah 55:12

When Uhlman’s, our favorite ice cream stand, opened for the season in March, I decided to pick ice cream flavors alphabetically. In the past, I found myself overwhelmed by the choices. This year I planned to work my way through as many of the ice cream flavors that sounded good, but in an orderly, regimented way. Thus, when we went for the first time, I started at the top of the list and ordered

Black Raspberry Chip

I followed this with

Blueberry
Strawberry*
Chocolate Chip
Chocolate Raspberry Truffle
Cookie Dough

and, last night, a root beer float*. Unfortunately, Uhlman’s closes for the season on Columbus Day — tomorrow — and I barely got into the Cs. I guess I’ll just have to try again in the future.

And now the obligatory new bike picture, taken last night before we rode over to the ice cream place:

Sunset Artemis

We rode our bikes over to Uhlman’s yesterday, fulfilling a long-standing dream of mine. A better afternoon for cycling could hardly be imagined, and having Ian along with me turned it into a perfect activity. My only disappointment is that we waited so long, and now have lost the chance to repeat that particular happy activity again. Fortunately I know we’ll do lots of other fun things together in the future, so I’ll just keep this one as a happy memory and look forward to the new fun things too.

*I did deviate a couple times because strawberry, and then later a root beer float, sounded so good. They were.
