No one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.
I found this heavy-duty mystery object on our walk to the Journey Church this morning.
It is stainless steel, about 4″ long, and surprisingly heavy for its size. The picture shows the innards at top and the outer casing at bottom. The casing is nubby and extremely sturdy. The innards go into the casing in the order shown, with the front of the upper right-hand piece poking a short distance out of the end; that piece looks sheared off, and when you press on it (when the entire thing is assembled), it is slightly springy. <--- HEAVY and LIGHT ---> are engraved around the top twist-off portion of the casing, with arrows as shown. Around the bottom twist-off portion “General No. 89” and “Stainless Steel” is engraved. Those are our clues.
We may have already figured it out with the help of Google, but I’m looking for best straight-up, internet-information-free guesses here.
