Day’s Verse:

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”

Is. 6:8

What is the most logical way to go about quantifying something like contentment? WPI and Clark cost approximately the same amount; I would lose a good scholarship at Clark with none from WPI on the horizon. But would I be happier at WPI, or would my degree from there make me more marketable (odd to think of making myself saleable: “20 year old woman, strong, healthy, good teeth, who’ll bid $100?”)? Am I making this TechComm degree out to be far better than it actually is – a castle in the clouds – to excuse my flight from Clark?

I have always leaned towards WPI, and after looking at the cost analysis Ian did of the difference between me at Clark and me at WPI, I cannot worry too much about finances. It becomes a matter of… Where does God want me?

P.S. Awesomely enough I also got a solid A on my MBWII exam, making 50% of the assignments due in this class A-/A work. Take that, Wordsworth, you old kook.

  1. Yaaay Katie got into WPI!!

I know it’s a very stressful process to go through, considering I went through it not long ago. I’m here to offer any advice you may want, and I can try to not be too biased. I think that the tech comm program is a good one, and there are definitely the pros and cons to go through before making a final decision. Judging by how you talked about WPI with excitement before you knew whether you were in, I think it’s just a matter of personal preference and deciding whether this change would be a positive for you.

I can offer that it’s been a positive one for me, but we’re all different and that’s what makes the world go ’round, hehe. Good luck with your decision process and I’m here if you need me!! 🙂

  2. P.S. If you come we could do our MQP together! We’d make a fantastic team. : )

P.P.S. Tech communications fills up the 2 areas of your life that you haven’t really been able to have enough of both of together at Clark. I know I’m leaning toward the WPI end, and I know it takes a lot of courage to face this kind of decision. I hope whatever one you make it’s the one that brings you the most fulfillment.
