I am officially grossed out. We have killed four centipedes (one escaped) since we got back to the apartment – big, long-legged, fast-moving creatures that make me want to leave permanently. I don’t gross out easily; I kill big spiders all the time. It’s part of living in the basement. But this is the last straw. I CANNOT STAND having long, creepy, scuttling arthropods lurking in cracks and crannies; everywhere I go now I expect to see them swarming. Though I know they can’t bite, still… And the best part is they’re very common in basements! Treatment: drying out and cleaning the place up, which are both physically impossible for this apartment. I hope they all go the way of everything on earth soon, because if they do not, I think I will via a heart attack some time I see one.
