Things are going well, I think. I like how NQN turned out – if you haven’t been there yet, why not go? I update it quite often. Lesley and I begin writing our IQP this week, sort of shooting in the dark. We don’t know what format to use or anything, but we’ll give it a try and see what Errrrrrwinnnn says. I thought IQP advisors were supposed to be helpful, there to give you a nudge in the right direction occasionally? But ours is totally hands-off, really just a fuzzy Dutch dude in the background constantly telling us to do our own work, darn it! Which we are.

I need more patience to keep going to my Calc class, though. Not the prof: he’s great, an excellent teacher who explains things very well. Keeps us awake and involved the whole time. No; it’s the smart-alecks in the class who think they know so much about everything because they know how to do the Chain Rule before we learn it. If they’re so smart, why are they taking Calc again?! But having them sitting there, all around me, whispering “Integrals!” when he mentions doing derivatives backwards, or “Chain rule!” as he starts to introduce it has started to really get on my nerves. Really. God is good, though, so I think He will give me the patience to be there, and the love to accept people like that although they really piss me off.

In Writing, we have a zillion papers due concurrently. I’m currently nervous because I conduct my interview to profile a medical person tomorrow morning at 8:30. She’s pretty nice and I know her a little bit, but an hour isn’t long and I have never interviewed somebody in person before. Scary!
