You know you have no sense of personal dignity when…

…out of sheer laziness, you ask a guy friend to take you to the grocery store, then buy pads.

My justification: I walked to the store yesterday. I will walk to the store tomorrow to buy potatoes. Must I thus walk to the store again today, solely to buy one (essential) item? Not when a car is readily available!

He should think of it as “character building” and realize that some day his wife will send him to the store for pads. This is simply an opportunity to practice being cool in an awkward situation. And we all need more practice at that.
