Day’?s Verse:
Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury; for they put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on.
Mark 12:43-44 (context)

And I passed 1,400 in my coldest ride yet, what the online weather site said was 4°. Lately I’?ve been wondering if I could raise money for a charity through bike riding. People raise money by having donors pay them per mile of walking in races and such; why not do the same for my riding? Would you sponsor me, say per mile for a month or some other set time period, if I decided to do that?

I recently received, totally free of charge, an enormous and comprehensive guide book to Fairbanks, Alaska. I spontaneously ordered it after seeing an ad for Fairbanks in a magazine, which caused me to realize this amazing fact: I have never received mail from Alaska! So I quickly set about remedying that sad situation, and this spawned another idea:

Why not try to collect mail from all 50 states?

So send me mail and I’?ll stack it with my Alaskan guidebook and even credit you here, on my vastly popular and well-read web site. If you send something funny enough I’?ll even scan it and post it here. You’?ll be famous!

  1. ooh, ooh, me too. I’ll send you a post card of Washington, D.C. from California. what will that count as?

For the record, I was going to send it to you before I saw this post. I just haven’t mailed it yet because once again I’ve lost your address.

(and it was so conveniently packaged on the envelope you sent! I really have no excuse)
