Day’?s Verse:
Open your mouth for the mute,
For the rights of the unfortunate.
Open your mouth, judge righteously,
and defend the rights of the afflicted and needy.

Proverbs 31:8-9

I recovered from the donut holes, thankfully, but that whole day involved too many sweet bread-products and the rest of the week I have taken it easy on that. Although I admit that I never had the opportunity to eat more donuts, so that resolution never found

I just noticed that the brand of English muffin I buy has this ridiculous statement on the packaging:

Heartier nooks &
Healthier crannies

What does that even mean?! I understand that part of the English muffiny joy comes from butter or whatever you choose to put on it soaking into the little holes and pooling t here. Sure. But healthier and heartier? I ask you.

Now a stupid joke that will only make sense to people who have read the Bible:

Q: Why is eating scrambled eggs and sunny side up eggs together not Biblical?
A: They’re unequally yolked!

Lastly, a question: Do you suppose my blog ended up with three pictures of food and one of a mouth for all the posts on the front page by coincidence, or does this reflect my particular mindset?

  1. Aren’t nooks and crannies technically empty space?! I guess that can’t be unhealthy but isn’t especially healthy either.

  2. Seems like whenever I try to say “nooks and crannies” it comes out “crooks and nannies,” both of which are titles I associate particularly with the British, so it doesn’t cause too much disruption in my mental ‘English muffin file.’
