Day’?s Verse:
So I turned to consider wisdom, madness, and folly; for what will the man do who will come after the king except what has already been done? And I saw that wisdom excels folly as light excels darkness.

When I received this email today, I just had to chuckle.

Hi All,

I would like to take this opportunity to discuss the two options we are looking at concerning coffee stations for Shrewsbury. I will outline the options below. Once you have reviewed both options, I would like to ask you to vote either “Yes” or “No”. A “Yes” vote would be in favor of the Flavia Coffee/Tea stations at .50 cents per cup. A “No” vote would be in favor of continuing to use the current coffee we have been offering here in Worcester at no charge. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Flavia Coffee/Tea Stations:

– Many inspiring drink selections
– Hot Chocolate, House Blend, Breakfast Blend, Irish Crème, French Vanilla, Hazelnut, Columbian, French Roast Italian, Sidamo Gold, House Blend Decaf, Hazelnut Decaf, French Roast Decaf, English Breakfast Tea, Darjeeling Tea, Earl Grey, Traditional Tea, Herbal Red Tea, Green Tea
– Mini-Moo creamer cups (half & half) – not powdered
– Pure Freshness and Hassle Free
– Brews Direct and pure from pack to cup
– .50 cents per cup
– Accepts change or dollar bills

New England Coffee:

Gee, based on this wording, do you suppose the sender has a preference?

  1. This reminds me of the classic Dave Barry comparison of “The Club” vs. “The Giant Inflatable Spider.” Given Barry’s results, a person would be a fool not to purchase the spider as the superior auto theft deterrent. 😉

  2. we have flavia at res services, where i get my coffee when i feel the need (it is 5 apartments away). they only have like 5 choices though. i like to mix the hot chocolate and the regular coffee, but it uses a premeasured amount of everything so you have to make 2 cups.

your mom’s inflatable comment reminds me of the fact that my whole apartment takes turns hiding an inflatable alligator around the apartment. we try to position in behind doors and such so it falls on the discoverer and “attacks” them. its kind of big though so we are running out of exciting hiding spots.

  3. Nora, are you telling me that they aren’t “inspiring drink selections,” really? Cause that’s pretty disappointing.

I actually didn’t respond to this email because I wouldn’t pay $0.50 for a cup of tea and I don’t care about the coffee. But I’m glad that people have the option for “pure freshness” in their morning beverage.
