Day’s Verse:
So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives. Don’t lazily slip back into those old grooves of evil, doing just what you feel like doing. You didn’t know any better then; you do now. As obedient children, let yourselves be pulled into a way of life shaped by God’s life, a life energetic and blazing with holiness. God said, “I am holy; you be holy.”
1 Peter 1:13-16

I went on my first longer training ride today, a remarkably easy, mostly-downhill (how can that be if I start and end at the same elevation? But it felt mostly downhill, so bear with me) 26-mile loop that I made up on the fly and enjoyed extra for not having it planned out. As a commuter, I get so tired of riding the same exact roads every day, and the opportunity to improvise on a ride makes it all the more delightful. I even managed to find my way home without having to call SOS to Ian! My route:
During the week I will probably begin stretching out my evening commute, now that we have lots of hours of daylight. Today’s ride reinforced my sneaking suspicion that this is NOT the right saddle for me long-term — and by reinforced, I mean my butt clearly and unequivocally told me Get me off of this thing! after about 20 miles. Time for something new.
