Day’?s Verse:
So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.
Hebrews 10:35-36

Since I didn’t feel so great yesterday, I did my mid-week training ride today instead:
For some reason it thinks I was in Shrewsbury, Kansas. That aside…
I got lost — turns out a road I planned to ride on was suitable only for mountain bikes, and qualified as a “road” only in the most generous sense — but then I got un-lost by recognizing a turn I had taken in a previous ride, so that worked out amazingly well. Although I was no longer lost in terms of getting home, I had ridden off of my directions (I planned a route this time) and felt bummed about that. Miraculously, by taking this route I recognized from before, I also happened to ride back into my plan, and thus finish the route I intended. I spent several miles in awe of how well that worked out.
The weather, as predicted, turned out gorgeous: almost 70° when I left work. Alas, the weekend looks like it will revert back to 50° rain, not the best ever for two 50-mile rides, but today was like a promise of finer weather to come. A breath of hope, to remind us that dreary wet early-spring weather will soon yield to yet more glorious days. I sure do love that feeling, which I miss all winter, of wind in my hair… my leg hair, that is.

You know dear, if you wanted a drink of water, I would have brought it to you from the kitchen. There was no need to ride 30 miles just to get a drink.
Talk about things that make you go eeww. . . leg hair blowing in the wind! 🙂
