Day’s Verse:
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life,
turning a man from the snares of death.
Proverbs 14:27

Today I rode left for work and it was 46°F. That means we had about 1 month of actual summer weather this year, and now we head into what may be the most beautiful but most fleeting time of year in New England: Fall. Autumn is one of my two favorite things about New England. It’s cool, but not yet actually snowy, and the days warm up enough that people still go out and enjoy themselves outdoors; the trees put on their annual glorious show, peaking for about 1 day before suddenly dropping their leaves and becoming winter-gaunt; most of all, I think the sense of ending starts floating through the air, when you start really appreciating the warmth and beauty around you because you become keenly aware of how transient it is. It’s a lovely but rather melancholy time of year.
