Day’s Verse:
A man’s spirit sustains him in sickness,
but a crushed spirit who can bear?

Proverbs 18:14

Do you remember my post about the bee sting, back on September 4?

It happened again. I’m starting to think this is personal or something.

This bee hit my throat and I thought it was gone (I did do some frantic clothing-clearing with one hand, but found nothing) until I felt something that wasn’t sweat going down my cleavage. When I took emergency action, it clearly felt threatened and stung me deep down. It really, really hurt — more than I remember bee stings hurting when I was a kid — and now it hurts AND itches, so even if I do itch, it doesn’t help. This also happens to be the exact place my messenger bag strap goes, so even riding to and from work is excruciating.

This really seems unfair. Years of no bee stings, and now two in less than two weeks. I’m starting to wonder if I need to start wearing a beekeeper’s hat on my bike or something.

  1. That sounds awful! I think stings hurt like crazy. And it’s a bit hard to use a cold pack, etc. to lessen the pain and swelling when you’re riding your bike.
