Day’s Verse:
Turn your back on evil,
work for the good and don’t quit.
God loves this kind of thing,
never turns away from his friends.

Psalm 37:27-28

Sunrise on LeavesApparently chocolate milk has been scientifically proven to be an effective post-exercise recovery drink. I like the potential benefits of this finding.

I mention this because, now that we’re back from our Florida interlude, I’ve got my work cut out for me creating lesson plans and materials for two presentations I’ve been assigned for the League of American Bicyclists Cycling Instructor seminar. Yes, the seminar that starts Friday at 5:00 pm and goes all the way through Sunday at 3:00 pm, with short breaks for us to go home and sleep. One of my presentations is on nutrition for bicyclists before and after the ride, which leads me to the happy chocolate milk discovery. The other presentation is on bike fit and adjustment, and that one has me a little more stymied. In addition to preparing for those, I also have to master the instant turn and quick stop — my frequent mention of these maneuvers should indicate how anxious I am about them — and continue various other massive and time-consuming activities.

This is going to be a very long next few weeks. My home is a pit. There are crumbs all over the kitchen floor, the stove is a disaster zone, and we have junk strewn everywhere… and I barely have time to keep enough laundry clean for us to have clothes, let alone clean more. I will be really glad to make it to November.

Oh, and while I’m on the subject, I got my bike back after its major overhaul and I can already tell after 45 minutes of instant turn practice in the parking lot that the new carbon fiber handlebars I sprang for are amazing.
