Day’s Verse:
“Staying with it—that’s what God requires. Stay with it to the end. You won’t be sorry, and you’ll be saved.”
Matthew 24:13

Gary and I made it safely to Seattle today, leaving Missoula, MT at 7:00 am mountain time and arriving at my parents’ house in Kirkland at about 2:00 pm pacific time. On the drive through Eastern Washington, I finally (after maybe a dozen futile attempts and 50 minutes waiting on hold today) managed to speak to a real person at the Unemployment Insurance in Massachusetts, so my address should be correct now. I really, really hope so. Anyway, when we got out of the U-Haul here in Kirkland, we both agreed that if we never spent another minute in that U-Haul, that’d be OK with us. Then we unloaded the basic stuff I need: clothes and my bikes. The rest of the stuff I will sort as we put it into a storage place that I hope to find, rent, and perhaps pack tomorrow. This afternoon I spent several hours putting my bikes back together and performing simple repairs, and tomorrow I will also stop by a bike shop to see if I can get a few final things tweaked.

In the meantime, I intend to spend most of this evening asleep and not crammed uncomfortably in a moving vehicle.
