The last few days we have enjoyed exceptionally pleasant, sunny weather that makes all Seattleites switch from saying, “Have a good day!” to “Enjoy the sun!” I don’t know of anywhere else where people say that. Everybody seems to perk up, too, like a droopy plant getting water, so you walk around seeing people with a spring in their step, smiling and greeting their neighbors. It’s an unacknowledged benefit of living in a grey and drizzly climate that your feel genuinely happy to see the sun, and you get a mood boost just by glancing out the window. Plus, you don’t catch us taking sunny days for granted! We get outside at every opportunity and cherish every sunny moment, knowing clouds are only days away.
