This week we’ve enjoyed our annual trip to Seaside, Oregon. As Benji has gotten older, we’ve been able to do more and more fun activities, including things that involve staying up late.

I don’t want to give the impression that every day was glorious weather — in fact, on Wednesday, it rained steadily all day. We spent most of the day inside, but did take an excursion to the Tillamook Creamery, where (surprise!) we had more ice cream. On Wednesday we also played hide and seek, which is WAY more fun in the large and complicated Seaside house. It has a zillion nooks to hide in, perfect for hide and seek.
Thursday got glorious again, though. Ian and I had arranged to spend Thursday night at the Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach to celebrate our 16th anniversary. We left early and went for a nice hike to Cape Falcon first, then enjoyed a delicious five-course dinner at the dining room, followed by a game of Azul (a tie!) and an evening walk on the beach.

Oh, I did do some biking. I got a flat on Highway 101, and successfully changed it myself, including using an air cannister to reinflate. Hooray?

We head home midday today, but overall Ian and I agree that this has been one of the most fun, and relaxing, trips we’ve ever taken to Seaside.
