My Stanford Hospital room really did have a fabulous view. It was a 6th floor room on the southwest corner. Each window had automatic louvers that would come down and adjust based on the sunlight coming in.

In the hotel, our room can’t be more than 10 feet from El Camino Real, a huge seven-lane road. The window faces towards the road, which the hotel has hidden with an embankment of ivy. Not nearly as spectacular, but…
… The window opens! This lets in traffic noise, admittedly, but also fresher air than I’ve breathed in days.

I’ll take it.
Maybe this afternoon I will be able to actually go outside in the nice hotel courtyard for a while. Fresh air beckons!
